Expedition Details

Our 1-Day Expedition is perfectly designed for those who can’t stay too long. It’s shorter and more compact than our overnight expeditions.

Jump on board in the morning for a 1-hour boat ride heading directly to explore the beautiful islands of Coiba National Park. Use the boat as a base as we adventure through the paradise playground of the islands.

Snorkel through one of the most extensive and biodiverse marine parks in the world. Walk through the tropical forest of Coiba island and search for wild endemic, and endangered jungle animals. Relax on the unspoiled white sand beaches of Rancheria. Visit the ANAM Ranger station and enjoy a fresh and plentiful lunch inspired by our Panamanian chef. After an action-packed day, return to Santa Catalina late in the afternoon.

*This trip does not include visiting Antigua Penal de Coiba during the regular season. It can be added to the 1 Day Private Expedition, or you can also join one of our overnight trips.

What Are You Going To See?

Panama’s Coiba National Park is incredible and exotic and was identified as a UNESCO world heritage site in 2005. Set along the Pacific coast near the Gulf of Chiriquí, this massive park protects the country’s largest island and some of the most biologically rich waters in the world. The park is home to many marine species, including dolphins, humpback whales, sperm whales, orcas, whale sharks, manta rays, sea turtles, and white-tip reef sharks. 760 species of fish have been recorded here, including Barracudas, Snappers, Amberjack, and Marlin.

Coiba Island is covered in over two-thirds of virgin forests most of which are moist tropical forests. 40 species of mammals have been spotted on the island, including howler and white-faced Capuchin monkeys, white-tailed deer, and Coiban agoutis. 147 species of birds have been identified, including the scarlet macaw, which is becoming increasingly rare in Panama. Amphibians and reptiles are also abundant, including large crocodiles, snakes, and iguanas.

Animal Sightings Are Not Guaranteed! We will be adventuring through nature, the home of wild animals. Remember, when planning the length of your trip, the more time you spend in nature, the more animal encounters you will likely have.

Who Is The Trip For?

The Day Trip Expedition is open to guests older than 2 years!

Babies under 2 years and pregnant women are NOT allowed on board. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. No exceptions will be made to this policy. Children 5 years and above are the same prices as adults. Children 2-4 years old are free.
