4 Day Boat Expedition & 3 Nights Camping on the Islands

Explore the more remote parts of the islands and get lost in the beauty and wildlife of the magical Coiba National Park on this 4-day, 3-night expedition. Disconnect from the rest of the world and enjoy the luxury of solitude for a few days. On this journey, we will have 4 full days of exploring and 3 nights camping on the islands.

Snorkel through one of the most extensive and biodiverse marine parks in the world. Walk along the trails of Coiba Island and look for wild and endangered jungle animals. Relax on the unspoiled white-sand beaches of Rancheria, Playa Damas, Playa Hermosa, and Punta Esquina. Discover the park’s most iconic landmarks, including the Antigua Penal. Visit the ANAM Ranger station. Hike the Sendero de Los Monos Trail and search for several species of monkeys.

At night our crew will make camp on one of the islands. Enjoy dinner and a cold drink as the sun goes down, share stories from the day as the moon rises, and fall asleep to the sounds of nature to be ready for another day of adventure!

What Are You Going To See?

Panama’s Coiba National Park is incredible and exotic and was identified as a UNESCO world heritage site in 2005. Set along the Pacific coast near the Gulf of Chiriquí, this massive park protects the country’s largest island and some of the most biologically rich waters in the world. The park is home to many marine species, including dolphins, humpback whales, sperm whales, orcas, whale sharks, manta rays, sea turtles, and white-tip reef sharks. 760 species of fish have been recorded here, including Barracudas, Snappers, Amberjack, and Marlin.

Coiba Island is covered in over two-thirds of virgin forests, most of which are moist tropical forests. 40 species of mammals have been spotted on the island, including howler and white-faced Capuchin monkeys, white-tailed deer, and Coiban agoutis. 147 species of birds have been identified, including the scarlet macaw, which is becoming increasingly rare in Panama. Amphibians and reptiles are also abundant, including large crocodiles, snakes, and iguanas.

Animal Sightings Are Not Guaranteed! We will be adventuring through nature, the home of wild animals. Remember, when planning the length of your trip, the more time you spend in nature, the more animal encounters you will likely have.

Who Is The Trip For?

The Coiba Ultimate Experience is a sociable experience shared with people from all over the world.

Unfortunately, our camping overnight expeditions are not suitable for children under 14 years old. Check out our Coiba Hotel Experience if you have children under 14.

There is no upper age limit, all you need is an adventurous spirit!

Our crew members are happy and ready to help any explorers who are worried about their physical capabilities in the water. We also have life jackets that can be worn while swimming.

Warning – This expedition is not for everyone! We are exploring through nature and may experience bad weather, rough waves, jellyfish stings, mosquito bites, limited privacy, and/or sunburn. A sense of adventure and a positive attitude are highly recommended.

When Do Trips Depart & Arrive?

We will meet at our office on the main street of Santa Catalina next to the Yolo Pizza Restaurant on Principal Street across from Bodhi hostel at 8:30 am.
